KELT-9B Animation

The task for this assignment was to create a 1-minute-long animation (45 minimum) about an exoplanet of our choosing. We first needed to write and record the script of our video. Then, we move to modeling and texturing our planets and stars. After that, we focused on animation and camera rigging. Finally, we rendered and composited for the remainder of the time.

My animation if about the exoplanet Kelt-9B. I chose this planet as I found its characteristics interesting and challenging to represent digitally. The biggest challenge was representing the extreme heats this planet goes through. My solution was to make a pyro simulation that gave the impression of the planet loosing mass.

I was inspired by the series cosmos throughout this project. I wanted my shots to be similar to shots you would see in that show. The biggest challenge was rendered time, due to my equipment I was forced to compromise and remove some volume simulations from the project.
